ジェームズ・P・ジュール(James Prescott Joule 1818-1889)の論文

ジュールと言えばエネルギー(仕事)の単位[J]の人ですが、水の中の羽根車を、滑車を通して取り付けたおもりで動かして水をかきまぜ、水温の変化を測定して、熱量と仕事量とが等価であることを示したことで有名なイギリスの科学者です。
