映画「ビューティフル・マインド」のモデルとなった1994年ノーベル経済学賞受賞の数学者ジョン・ナッシュ氏（８６）と夫人のアリシア・ナッシュさん（８２）が、5月23日に乗車中のタクシーの事故のため亡くなりました。ニュージャージー州で帰宅する途中で、タクシーは別の車を追い越そうとした際にガードレールに衝突し、夫妻が車外へ投げ出されたそうです。19日にノルウェーで行われたアーベル賞の授賞式に参加し自宅に帰る途中でした。
