失速する日本の科学 Nature Index 2017

日本の科学研究の失速ぶりを、ネイチャーインデックスニュースやネイチャーインデックス2017日本版が伝えています。

研究ランキング

ネイチャーインデックスは、いろいろなカテゴリーごとにランキングを発表していますが、アジア勢では中国に大きく水をあけられています。

ネイチャーインデックス（Nature Index）は、論文出版や世界の研究動向を明らかにするために、研究成果を国・機関別にプロファイリングするデータベースで、選ばれたジャーナル68誌の発表論文に基づいています（参考：Nature Indexについて）。Weighted Fractional Count（WFC)というのは、ジャーナル総数が少ない宇宙物理科学にのみ重み付けを行うことで標準化されたFractional Count（FC）で、FCとは、共著者の割合に応じて国や機関に論文数を割り振る計算方法です。ちなみに、Article Count（AC）は、共著機関または共著国全てに対して1論文を1と数える計算方法です（参考：Nature Indexの論文カウント方法）。
